BOUNTY KILLER TO 'REASON' WITH ST. JAMES YOUTHS
Controversial international deejay, Bounty Killer will head a
panel of speakers looking at youths in relation to politics,
education and HIV/AIDS in a forum organized by the St. James Junior
Council, on Tuesday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Montego Bay
Civic Centre.
The forum is titled, "Reasoning: Issues Affecting St.
James Youths," and Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney
Pryce, has been invited to share his experience as a youth from one
of Kingston's inner cities, and how he overcame the odds to emerge
with a success story as one of the most outstanding dancehall icons
in the entertainment industry today.
Other panelists include the Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Noel
Donaldson; former Junior Mayor and President of the National
Students Council, Deroi Brown, businessman, Dr. Shaun Jones and
President of Jamaica AIDS Support - St. James Chapter, Fabian Thomas
among others.
The St. James Junior Council is a group of young people drawn
from secondary and tertiary level schools in St. James. They have
come together in a common objective of making a contribution to
their communities by addressing some of the issues facing their
peers and advocating on behalf of the city of Montego Bay. The
concept of a youth forum emerged from the desire for change.
Youths from the various communities, clubs, schools and civic
organizations in an around Montego Bay are invited to attend and
participate in the forum.
